Supporting Stability and Success Across LA County

Hope for Housing Students provides transitional housing and comprehensive support to community college students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity across Los Angeles County. We operate five residences in Pasadena, Rosemead, Monterey Park, Cypress, and Long Beach, offering 75 beds to youth from historically underserved communities, including many youth of color, foster care alumni, and justice-involved students.

Housing insecurity remains a serious issue: nearly 60% of community college students in the region report unstable housing, with 1 in 4 experiencing homelessness. This instability impacts academic success, mental health, and overall well-being.

Our program goes beyond shelter, offering trauma-informed case management, mental health counseling, academic support, life skills workshops, nutritious meals, and assistance navigating college and social services.

In the Media

In August 2023, Hope for Housing Students was featured by ABC7 and LACCD News, spotlighting our work to provide stable environments for housing-insecure community college students.

We appreciate the opportunity to raise awareness and demonstrate how stable housing supports student success.
